Role Overview
We’re seeking a Marketing Manager to lead our brand and growth efforts across multiple platforms and markets. This role requires a strategic thinker and strong operator who can inspire a team, drive execution, and use data to make informed decisions. You’ll be responsible for defining marketing strategy, ensuring campaigns deliver measurable impact, and scaling Our client’ visibility globally.
What You’ll Lead
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Lead cross-channel campaigns for our flagship offerings—books, music, animation, and the Our client app.
- Translate insights and trends into bold campaigns that cut through noise and inspire families worldwide.
- Define and execute Our client’ multi-channel marketing strategy across books, music, animation, and app products.
- Lead annual marketing planning, with clear KPIs tied to brand growth, revenue, and market expansio
- Manage and mentor junior marketing staff, building a high-performing, creative, and data-driven team.
Brand Campaigns & Partnerships
- Oversee the development and execution of large-scale brand campaigns, product launches, and cultural showcases.
- Build and nurture partnerships with schools, cultural institutions, media houses, NGOs, and corporate sponsors.
- Develop innovative sponsorship and activation opportunities to extend our client’ reach globally.
Digital Marketing & Growth
- Own performance marketing strategy across paid ads, CRM, SEO, and analytics.
- Drive audience rowth and retention on digital platforms, from TikTok and YouTube to newsletters and the Our client app.
- Lead experimentation with AI-powered tools for personalization, campaign automation, and data insights.
Commercial & Business Impact
- Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to ensure marketing drives measurable sales, distribution, and partnerships.
- Negotiate and manage marketing budgets, ensuring maximum ROI.
- Track and report marketing performance to senior management and stakeholders, with actionable recommendations.
Growth & Performance Marketing
- Own marketing KPIs, budgets, and reporting to leadership.
- Guide the use of SEO, performance ads (Meta, Google), CRM, and conversion funnels to drive sales and app engagement.
- Use data to continuously refine strategy and optimize ROI.
- Ensure campaign measurement frameworks are robust, transparent, and actionable.
Content, Social & Community
- Supervise the content calendar and ensure platform-specific strategies for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and newsletters.
- Build and scale community engagement with parents, schools, cultural institutions, and retail partners.
- Oversee messaging consistency across all platforms, ensuring cultural relevance and resonance.
- Develop influencer and ambassador programs, ensuring brand alignment and measurable outcomes.
- Elevate digital storytelling through data-backed creative experimentation.
Events, Partnerships & Brand Activations
- Lead Our client’ presence at book fairs, cultural festivals, school activations, and promotional events.
- Oversee creative production for exhibitions, sponsorship activations, and trade shows.
- Manage external partners, agencies, and vendors to ensure world-class brand experiences.
- Pitch and secure high-impact sponsorships and collaborations that amplify brand visibility.
Team Leadership & Innovation
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team, including associates, creatives, and freelancers.
- Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Experiment with AI-driven tools and innovations to scale marketing workflows and personalization.
- Champion collaboration across product, content, and operations to align marketing with company objectives.
Who You Are
- 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years managing a team.
- Proven track record leading brand and growth marketing in fast-paced industries (media, entertainment, tech, publishing, or consumer goods).
- Strong commercial acumen: you can balance creativity with business impact.
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Comfortable with data-driven decision-making and marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Ads, Mailchimp/Klaviyo, SEO platforms).
- A builder: you thrive in startup environments, scaling processes and teams.
- Passionate about children’s content, African storytelling, and the power of media to shape identity.
- Bonus: Pan-African or diaspora market experience.
- Bonus: AI fluency or experience with AI-powered marketing tools.
